Welcome to ludohistory

We’re exploring the idea that the past is still relevant to us today. We’re inundated with historical references in books, movies, and games, our public spaces and museums. Despite this explosion of interest in history, there’s still a lot of mystery behind history as a craft.

I’m Adam, a professional historian who has worked in museums, manuscript libraries, and published on how we adapt the medieval past. I’m trying to demystify what it means to “do” history and help uncover the sometimes surprising ways that the past re-appears in our culture.
